Saturday Song: Stacy’s Mom by Fountains of Wayne

Happy Saturday!

Did you know that the music that you will connect with best for the rest of your life is what you enjoyed in your formative years (think junior high or so through to early adulthood)? Seriously, that’s the stuff they’re gonna be playing for you when you’re in the nursing home as a senior.

So I’ve been on a kick of listening to this stuff, because I was discussing this fact with some of my seniors groups, and they were asking what they would be playing for me when I get old.

And this is one:

Man, the ’00s were weird.

I remember rocking out to this song at about 12-13 or so, and it making all our teachers uncomfortable. There’s nothing particularly unique about it – it’s standard for the time. But someday, someone is going to be singing this to me in a seniors home, and I’m going to be singing every word.

Take a listen and let me know what you think!
