Bookish Playlists: Summer Lovin’ (Pop Edition)

Ever been reading a book and wished you had a playlist that would fit the story perfectly?

Well, look no further! In this series, I’m going to try and put together some playlists to supplement your reading and enhance the whole experience.

Rather than trying to do a specific book, I’m opting to take a theme or genre and focus on that instead. This way, you can apply it to your book of choice and it should match up well enough!

I’m working on finding a better way to share these playlists, since I know clicking each YouTube video interrupts your reading. But I predominantly use Apple Music, and that shares my full name when I share playlists. And I’d really prefer to hang onto whatever amount of privacy the internet allows these days. So bear with me for the time being.

So here are some songs that will match up perfectly with you favourite romance-y, summer-y reads!

Something Just Like This – The Chainsmokers & Colplay
For that moment when your main character realizes that they’re the one.

Fireflies – Ron Pope
For when your main character has just had the perfect night with their crush or significant other, and can’t believe their luck.

Say You Won’t Let Go
For that moment when they know they’re perfect for each other.

Wildest Dreams – Taylor Swift
For that relationship that will only last the summer, but was perfect.

She Looks So Perfect – 5 Seconds of Summer
For that summer crush that you can’t get enough of.

Can We Dance – The Vamps
For that perfect person you see across the room.

Hey Soul Sister
For those perfect summer days.

I’m Yours – Jason Mraz
For those lazy days together on the beach.

Love – Lana Del Rey
For those moments when you can’t think of anything else but them.

Love’s Just A Feeling – Lindsey Stirling ft. Rooty
For when you don’t know if it’ll last, and aren’t sure if you care.

Good For You – Selena Gomez
For when things start getting hot and heavy.

Perfect – Ed Sheeran
For when you know it’s going to last beyond summer.
