Books To Read If Your Book Club Loves Comfort Food and Cozy Blankets

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme that’s hosted over on The Broke and the Bookish.

This weeks theme is…. *insert drumroll here* Book Recommendations for Book Clubs!!

Since it’s been so chilly and dreary where I live lately, I decided to do recommendations for books that pair perfectly with cups of coffee, cozy blankets, pyjamas and other such comfortable things. It seems like the perfect time to year for these types of books, as the weather gets colder and we all want to curl up in front of a fireplace and read.

So, without further ado, let’s get to this list!

This book is a bit on the serious, heavy side, but it’s a great escapist read, making it wonderful for a comfort read. Plus, it will leave you super satisfied, which will go well with your delicious cup of coffee or tea.

These books are the ultimate childhood flashback comfort read. Especially The Lion, the Witch and the Wardobe. But maybe that’s just me.

Want a good guilty pleasure read? Look no futher than the Selection books. For dystopian, they’re pretty easy going, and the romance is so much fun. And they don’t require a lot of focus to get through.

These books are super satisfying, making them great comfort reads. They incorporate your favourite fairy tales and some fun science fiction and great romances to make to feel all warm and cozy inside.

This book is so wonderful, and I’m looking forward to a reread of this myself while wrapped up under a blanket. It’s a great story with great characters and will give you all the warm and fuzzies you need to get you through the fall.

What’s a comfort read list without Harry Potter, right?

This book is an easy read with a fun mystery that is so good for a day in bed with a book. Plus, there is tonnes in it for your book club to discuss.

As the weather cools and we cozy up, pulling out a fun classic is great. And The Raven is great for the autumn atmosphere.

This book is sweet and so well written. If you’re looking for a feel good read that focuses on how kids perceive the world and the way people cope, this book is perfect.

If you’re looking for a fun read that’s a little more exciting than some that I’ve mentioned here, check out this series. There’s lots of butt kicking and superheroes that kind of suck at being superheroes. Plus, the series gets better wtih the second book.

  1. The Raven is such a perfect read for a stormy autumn night! One of my friends has been reading a lot of Poe for a class and she’s making me really want to pick up more of his work (I’ve only ever read The Raven and The Tell Tale Heart).

    Great list! 🙂
